ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FL - A northwest Florida man is dead after a crash in Escambia County Monday morning.
Investigators say 64-year-old Rex Walz of Molino, Fla., was traveling north on State Road 97 just before 6:00 when he crossed the center line and struck a tractor trailer head on.
After the collision, Walz's SUV overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer, 58-year-old Guster Chester of Brewton, Ala., suffered minor injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
