Authorities say a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officer groped three women who were in custody at Miami International Airport.

Federal prosecutors say 47-year-old Paulo Morales was arrested Friday.

He was formally charged a day earlier by a federal grand jury in the Southern District of Florida.

A six-count indictment charges Morales with three felony counts of abusive sexual contact and three misdemeanor counts of deprivation of civil rights.

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison for each count of abusive sexual contact and one year in prison for each count of deprivation of civil rights.

Court records did not list an attorney for Morales.
