Washington County Sheriff’s office reports an arrest stemming from the Aug. 17 shooting of a Holmes County man at a residence on Gilbert’s Mill Road.
David Ellis Mabry, 23 year old white male of Cottondale, FL has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and shooting a firearm from a vehicle
The shooting occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 17 after Mabry received a call from his brother, who was attending a party at the Gilbert’s Mill Road residence, and traveled to the residence where a party was being held. Mabry arrived at the Gilbert’s Mill residence, observed two male subjects approaching his vehicle then fired several shots into the air as well as at the ground from the driver’s side of his vehicle.
Mabry then left in his vehicle, stopping a short distance down the road after he stated he was followed by a vehicle. Mabry then exited his vehicle and fired approximately 7 rounds with a SKS assault rifle, into the vehicle.
The victim, Cody Alan Corbin, was driving the vehicle Mabry fired his weapon into, was struck in the foot. EMS arrived at the scene and Corbin refused transport. Mabry was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail
