Body Found after Southwest Fla. House Fire

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -- One person has been found dead following a house fire in southwest Florida.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office reports firefighters responded to a blaze in North Fort Myers Sunday at 6:44 a.m.

A body was located in the home once the flames were extinguished.

The State Fire Marshal's Office and the Major Crimes Unit of the Lee County Sheriff's Office are conducting a death investigation.

Officials say the fire does not appear to be suspicious.

The body has not yet been identified.
