GULF SHORES, Ala. (AP) -- Forecasters say Tropical Storm Andrea may bring heavy surf, wind and minor flooding to the Alabama coast.
The National Weather Service says rough surf and waves as high as 4-feet are possible, along with dangerous rip currents. Winds could be gusty.
Forecasters say low-lying areas could flood along the coast as the storm moves toward an expected landfall east of Alabama on the Florida Panhandle.
There's a 50 percent chance of rain on the Alabama coast Thursday and Friday, with high temperatures in the upper 80s.
The storm isn't expected to have a major impact on Alabama, but officials say 13 people had to be rescued from rough surf on state beaches on Wednesday.
