POINCIANA, Fla. (AP) - A pregnant cougar that got away from
handlers in Osceola County has returned home.
The cougar, named Sierra, escaped Saturday while being
transported to a cage for a trip to the veterinarian near
Poinciana. When Sierra returned on Sunday, Florida Fish and
Wildlife officials say the cougar was in labor.
Jungle Adventures, which has the permit to keep the cat, says
Sierra was not successful in giving birth, and she was later
Sierra had had an unsuccessful pregnancy in the past, and the
owners were hoping to avoid similar problems with a Cesarean
