Jacksonville is hosting 'Green Expo'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jacksonville is hosting a "Green Expo" this weekend.

The two-day expo on sustainable living is trying to help people choose a more environmentally friendly way of life.

An electronics recycling business and a battery retailer are scheduled to collect worn-out electronics and used batteries for recycling, event organizer Martin Kabaki said.

A nonprofit, Mission Harvest America, will take clothing, shoes, even furniture that is clean and can be reused by others, he said.

To encourage people to conserve gas, bicyclists are being promised valet parking and presents.
