SEBRING, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say they've arrested the man
responsible for sending dozens of envelopes with a suspicious white
power resembling anthrax to a central Florida hospital and town
The Highlands County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies,
working with state and federal officials, tracked down and arrested
20-year-old Jerron Mario Moffitt at his home Friday night. He faces
at least 75 counts of a hoax.
The scare began Thursday morning at the Florida Hospital
Heartland Division in Sebring, where a woman found one of the
envelopes on her car and opened it at home. Samples of the white
powder tested negative for anthrax.
Moffitt was being held without bail.
