GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a north Florida
man killed his disabled, former girlfriend, buried her body in his
backyard and then gave her wheelchair to the Salvation Army.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies recovered
the woman's remains from 35-year-old Kenneth Ray McBride's yard
Tuesday night.

McBride's current girlfriend sneaked out of the home Tuesday morning and called authorities from a convenience store.

She said she suspected McBride had buried the victim in his back
yard in February and then gave her belongings to the Salvation Army
the next day.

After deputies arrested McBride, they reported finding the body
of a woman with cerebral palsy buried in a shallow grave covered
with boards.

McBride was charged with murder. He was being held without bail.
