Officials say Florida has met the deadlines for federal stimulus money

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Gov. Charlie Crist's "stimulus czar" says Florida has met all deadlines so far for obtaining billions in federal recovery dollars.

Don Winstead also said Tuesday that Florida was ahead of schedule in filing a key document necessary to get the stimulus help.

Crist says the state next week will launch a Web site tracking the cash, a move others are also taking.

Some states have already made those sites available, but Crist says Florida officials are moving carefully to make sure everything is done correctly.
