TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Bottled water, Super Bowl tickets, and
even wine given away as a sample are among the items the Florida
House may consider taxing.

After spending hours going over sales tax exemptions, the House
Finance and Tax Council will decide next week whether to repeal as
many as 51 exemptions that could generate $385 million.

But Rep. Ellyn Bogdanoff, R-Fort Lauderdale and chairman of the
council, said that getting rid of the exemptions could cause more
harm for the state's fragile economy. The House is going over sales
tax exemptions in the wake of the state's $6 billion budget

Rep. Ron Saunders, D-Key West, said he would urge Democrats to
keep the exemptions, saying it's up to the Republican majority to
figure out how to balance the budget.
