Florida Governor and CFO say college money safe

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Gov. Charlie Crist and Chief Financial
Officer Alex Sink say the $8 billion Florida Prepaid College Plan
is safe.

Crist and Sink said Tuesday there is no way the Florida Legislature can take money from a trust fund used to hold money for families who have prepaid for their child's college tuition.

Florida Prepaid is a fund where parents or grandparents can pay
for college fees and tuition at today's rates.
