Fire guts mobile home in St. Clair County, 1 killed

ODENVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A mobile home fire left a wheelchair bound Odenville man dead.

St. Clair County sheriff's officials said the blaze erupted last night and gutted a trailer on Copper Springs Road.

The fire call went out just before 7 p.m.

The victim was identified as 40-year-old William Fomby. A relative said Fomby was left paralyzed after he was shot during a robbery in Birmingham several years ago.

Local and state investigators have not determined how it started.
