ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say Florida Highway Patrol troopers shot and killed a Port Orange woman who led them on a car chase and then threatened them with a handgun.
FHP reports that a trooper spotted 35-year-old Jennifer Manser on I-95 near Ormond Beach driving 120 mph Wednesday morning. Other troopers joined the pursuit, and authorities say Manser eventually pulled off the highway, taking the chase to surface roads.
Manser was eventually stopped by traffic, but when state troopers approached her, authorities say she threatened them with a 9 mm handgun. Four troopers opened fire, killing the woman.
Manser's boyfriend had reported her and his 9 mm handgun missing earlier Wednesday morning.
