Authorities say a state-certified firearms instructor from Orlando was selling weapons permits without making applicants pass a training test.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reports that agents arrested 48-year-old Anthony Torres on Thursday at a Lake Worth Burger King after he sold certificates to an undercover agent
posing as a customer. When contacted earlier in the week, Torres
allegedly offered to sell an agent a concealed weapons permit for $100 without taking the course.
The agency received a tip in October that Torres was selling security officer licenses to people without requiring they finish
required training courses.
Torres was charged with fraud and filing a false statement with the state. He was released Friday on $4,500 bail.
