Child falls from back of truck, dies near Eglin Air Force Base

HOLLEY, Fla. (AP) - The military is investigating how a 4-year-old child fell from the back of a pickup and died while riding through a Panhandle Air Force .

The child, whose name has not been released, died Wednesday after he fell from the truck while his family was driving through baseon the Eglin Air Force Base reservation.

Officials say the family was nonmilitary. Base spokesman Los Walsh says it appears the boy lost his balance and fell. The boy and another child were riding in the truck bed.
