GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a teacher at a
Gainesville high school has been arrested for having two loaded
guns on school property.
An Alachua County deputy was sent to Eastside High School Friday morning to pick up 43-year-old Mark Stockdale and take him to the Gainesville Police Department for questioning about another incident.
While patting Stockdale down, the deputy reported finding a loaded Derringer in Stockdale's pocket. Deputies then searched Stockdale's car, which was parked in the teacher lot, and found a loaded .44 caliber revolver.
Stockdale was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm on school property.
He was being held without bail awaiting a hearing scheduled for Tuesday morning.
