JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jacksonville police say officers shot and killed two suspects in unrelated investigations.
The sheriff's office says a man attempted to rob two undercover officers and fired one shot into their vehicle Thursday. Both officers returned fire, killing the man.
A few hours later, police shot a woman they chased after a robbery attempt at an ATM. According to the sheriff's office, the woman was seen rummaging around in the car after it rolled down an embankment.
An officer fired at her several times, thinking she had a gun. Investigators say they found a realistic replica handgun in the vehicle.
Jacksonville police shot 28 suspects in 2008.
