State investigates girl's fall from fair ride
NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Department of Consumer Services is investigating a teen's 30-foot fall from a Collier County Fair ride.
Sixteen-year-old Cecilia Amador broke five ribs and suffered a
bruised lung after falling from the "Avalanche" ride Thursday
night. Family members say she is hospitalized in stable condition.
Amanda Amador says the ride was at its highest point when her
sister's harness came up and Cecilia fell to the ground.
The Avalanche is a spinning ride that holds 24 riders and
reaches speeds of 20 revolutions per minute.
The ride reaches heights of 29 feet.
