TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Leaders of the 325th Fighter Wing are conducting a base-wide exercise this week that may have a slight impact on the surrounding community.
Due to 100 percent identification checks and additional security measure, traffic may be more congested than usual on Highway 98, outside of Tyndall Air Force Base.
Drivers should allow for delays and leave earlier to compensate for the extra wait in traffic.
Retirees and dependents can also expect additional security measures once on the base, to include: single consolidated entry points into government buildings, and 100 percent identification checks at the Base Exchange, Commissary and services facilities.
The 325th Fighter Wing is required by Department of Defense policy to conduct exercise throughout the year to test the base first responders in crises situations.
This is a routine requirement and the public should not be alarmed by any unusual activity at or near Tyndall AFB attributed to the ongoing exercise
