3 arrested after St. Petersburg police officer shot near gas station

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say three teenagers are
facing charges in connection to a shooting in St. Petersburg that
left a veteran police officer hospitalized.

James Allen Seay, Shaheed Amad Wright and Desmond John Creary
were charged with armed robbery and the attempted murder of a law
enforcement officer following the Monday night shooting at a gas
station.

Police say a 41-year-old officer, who has been with the St.
Petersburg police for 19 years, was shot in the upper and lower
body. The officer was taken to a hospital, where he is listed in
serious but stable condition.

The officer's name wasn't released.
