TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Gov. Charlie Crist says he's ready to
veto budget deficit-elimination legislation, but he won't do it
until next week.
The governor says he is most concerned about cuts in bonuses to
board-certified teachers and layoffs of probation officers.
The state let 66 probation officers go shortly after the
Legislature passed the $2.6 billion deficit plan last week.
Teachers who thought they qualified for 10 percent bonuses would
get only 8 percent.
