FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a student in
custody took a gun to a Fort Lauderdale high school - the same
school where another teen fatally shot her friend two months ago.
A Fort Lauderdale police spokesman said the suspect showed the
gun to another student Wednesday at Dillard High School.
The student alerted a school officer, who confronted the suspect.
The suspect took off running, but police said the officer caught up to him and used his Taser to subdue the suspect.
No further information has been released.
A 15-year-old girl fatally shot a fellow student in November.
She pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree murder and carrying a firearm on school campus.
She will be tried as an adult.
If convicted, she could face life in prison.
