MIAMI (AP) - The Coast Guard says it has permanently stopped
searching the waters off Florida for a cruise ship employee who
reportedly fell overboard.
Petty Officer James Harless says the search was called off Friday night.
He says the employee reportedly went overboard at 12:50 a.m.
Thursday. He says the search began ten minutes later and has
covered more than 3,000 square miles north of Vero Beach.
Harless say the employee worked on the Carnival Sensation. He says the ship is now back at Port Canaveral.
The name of the employee hasn't been released.
