Bay County Mandatory Water Boil Is Rescinded

Bay County's drinking water problem has been corrected. The water system is no longer exceeding turbitity levels and the Mandatory Boil Water notice has been lifted as of 2:30 PM New Year's afternoon.

A formal statement from Bay County Utilities was issed at mid afternoon. It states:

"Customers of Bay County Utilities were notified on December 31, 2008 of a problem with our drinking water and a Boil Water Notice was issued.

We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil you water. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

As always, you may contact Bay County Utility Services at (850) 872-
4785 or 3410 Transmitter Road, Panama City, Florida, 32404 with any comments or questions.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail."
