Bay County's drinking water problem has been corrected. The water system is no longer exceeding turbitity levels and the Mandatory Boil Water notice has been lifted as of 2:30 PM New Year's afternoon.
A formal statement from Bay County Utilities was issed at mid afternoon. It states:
"Customers of Bay County Utilities were notified on December 31, 2008 of a problem with our drinking water and a Boil Water Notice was issued.
We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil you water. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
