Foley police are investigating after an off-duty officer shot and wounded a man who allegedly used racial epithets and approached him with a knife.

Sgt. Ted Roy of the Escambia County, FL Sheriff's Office said Foley officer Maurice Wiley shot Johnny Cloud, of Century, FL once in the stomach.

A Foley police statement said Wiley, who is black, was taunted by three white men after arriving at Boomerz bar in Pensacola around 2:30 a.m. Saturday

The wound is not considered life-threatening.

Foley Deputy Police Chief Randy Bishop said the officer was not intoxicated and the men followed him into the parking lot.

Roy said Cloud could face criminal charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Wiley is on paid leave pending a standard internal investigation.

Can they spell H-A-T-E C-R-I-M-E in Pensacola or was one of the skinheads with the State Attorney's office? No joke. Make a public records request of the Pensacola Police department and compare it with prosecutions... minorities be damned.
