LAUDERHILL, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Lauderhill woman whose 11-month-old daughter died in a condo fire this month is responsible for the child's death.
Sasheena Monique Reynolds was charged Tuesday with premeditated murder. The 26-year-old woman's baby died of smoke inhalation after the family's apartment was engulfed in flames on Dec. 1. Reynolds and her 2-year-old son were able to escape.
A State Fire Marshal's investigation found traces of gasoline in debris collected at the unit. Police say they believe arson was involved, and by extension, murder.
Police are not saying why Reynolds may have set fire to her unit, or how they believe she accomplished the arson.
Reynolds was being held without bail set.
