A Panama City man is lucky to be alive after his newly purchased, 34-foot RV caught fire while he was driving down Highway 79.
The man, whose name is unavailable, was driving down Highway 79 around noon on Tuesday, just north of Back Beach Road, when his engine burst into flames.
He stopped his RV and managed to jump out of the RV before it was completely engulfed.
Fire crews were called to the scene and were able to put out the fire within a matter of minutes.
The Driver told Bay County Sheriff's deputies he purchased the RV just a few hours ago in Dothan for $8,000 and was driving it home.
No injuries have been reported.
The name of the RV store in Dothan was not released.
A State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
