PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A Panama City woman says she was fired from a job booking vacation rentals after she refused to greet callers with "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas."

Tonia Thomas has filed an Equal Opportunity Employment Commission complaint.

Thomas says the phrase "Happy Holidays" contributes to the secularization of Christmas. Her former employer, Counts Oakes
Resort Properties, says she was fired for other reasons.

The Orlando-based Liberty Counsel, which advocates for people
discriminated against because of religion, is representing Thomas.
