PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) - Veteran actor Wilford Brimley, who's
best known for all those Quaker Oats and Liberty Medical commercials, will receive the lifetime service award from the American Diabetes Association.

ADA's chief executive officer Larry Hausner will present the award Friday during a ceremony in Port St. Lucie to the 74-year-old actor for his community efforts to help improve the lives of diabetic patients.

Brimley starred in hit films such as "Cocoon" and "The China
