Miami Officer Shot in Face Serving Search Warrant

MIAMI (AP) - A Miami-Dade police officer has been shot in the
face after serving a search warrant. His injuries are not
life-threatening.

Miami-Dade Police Director Robert Parker says the injured
officer was serving a narcotics search warrant at a home Thursday
when he was shot. A woman inside the home was also shot.

Parker said the officer, who was not identified, was
"conscious, alert and in a lot of pain. Thank God he is going to
survive this."

The officer and the injured woman were both taken to the
hospital. Authorities believe the woman was the only shooter at the
home.
