TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Tampa police say an argument between two
roommates ended with one man being strangled and the other being
taken to jail.
Police say 30-year-old Billy Locke Jr. was arrested Tuesday and
charged with second-degree murder. He's being held at the Orient
Road Jail without bail.
He's accused of strangling his roommate, 43-year-old Rick Lamar,
during an argument at their home.
Officers were first called to the home because Ming wanted his roommate out. By the second call, Ming was dead.
Police say the two were arguing over cigarettes when Locke put Ming in a choke hold.
Police records show this isn't the first time Locke has been
accused of hurting Ming. And both men have prior arrest records,
for drug possession and aggravated battery.
