A single car wreck leaves one man dead Saturday evening and another in critical condition.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the wreck happened around 1:30 p.m. on West Banfill Avenue and U.S. 90 in Holmes County.
Forty-nine-year-old James Taylor from Ponce De Leon was driving his 1985 Chevy, west on Banfill Avenue with passenger, 49-year-old James Martin from Bonifay.
Taylor was traveling at a very high speed when he approached U.S. 90. They say the car veered off of the road and crashed into a stop sign. The vehicle then became airborne and drove into a wooded area where they hit several trees.
When Police arrived, the passenger, Martin, was pronounced dead. The driver, Taylor, was rushed to Bay Medical and is reported in critical condition.
Neither man was wearing a seat belt. FHP will determine if alcohol was involved.
