A social gathering in Jackson County, Florida turned violent overnight.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a stabbing at 2431 Sapp Road, just west of Cottondale.

A 911 caller stated that an individual had been stabbed and that the suspect left the scene in a white vehicle.

Two Washington County men suffered injuries in an altercation at the residence.

Authorities say 28-year-old Keith Bailey suffered multiple knife wounds and was transported to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in critical condition.

Officials say 26-year-old Alan Rice traveled to Chipley where he received treatment for non life threatening injuries.

Investigators are conducting interviews to determine what sparked the incident.

The matter remains under investigation at this time.
