Authorities say three people were killed and one was injured when their sedan drove into the path of a passenger train traveling through central Florida.
Florida Highway Patrol says two men and one woman died when the Amtrak train hit the car Friday evening in Orlando. A fourth passenger, 22-year-old Victor Carillo, was taken to the hospital
but released Saturday morning.
Killed in the crash were 22-year-old driver Walter Martinez, 19-year-old passenger Cristina Rosa and 27-year-old John Penaloza.
An Amtrak spokesman says none of the 185 passengers or crew were hurt.
FHP says the car drove past the crossing's lowered gates into the path of the train. The impact launched the car into the air,
and it landed about 200 feet away.
