Student dies after possible Fla. school shooting

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a high school student is dead after a possible shooting at a Fort Lauderdale high school.

Fort Lauderdale city spokesman Ted Lawson confirmed the death of the sophomore girl Wednesday afternoon. It came after some sort of incident at Dillard High School around 11 a.m., but police still aren't sure exactly what.

The victim was found unresponsive in a school hallway, but an initial examination found no evidence of a major wound. Sgt. Frank Sousa said police don't believe shots were heard, and he said they're still investigating whether any shells were found at the scene.
