JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Controversy is sweeping through the Duval County School Board as talks over taking up the issue of whether a high school should continue to bear the name of Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was a Confederate general, slave trader and early Ku Klux Klan leader.
The debated issue goes before the board Monday night in Jacksonville and board members have not given any indication how they will vote on the name change.
The board is faced with the choice of changing the name or leaving it the same.
