PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard says it has assisted
32 people who were stranded on a sinking charter vessel 12 miles
off coast of Pensacola.
The Coast Guard reports it received a distress call from the
boat's captain Monday morning. The Coast Guard sent three boats and
a jet to the charter boat, which was taking on water. Crews pumped
the water out of the vessel, allowing it to move under its own
Once the flooding was under control, a Coast Guard ship escorted
the charter boat to Destin Harbor.
