MIAMI (AP) - Elections supervisors are adding new equipment, and
updating Web sites to reflect wait times and handing out fans and water
to people standing in long early voting lines.
On Monday, the lines were so long in Broward County that the last
person cast their ballot at 10:20 p.m., hours after the polls closed.
Florida Congressman Kendrick Meek protested what he called
"excessive waits" at polling stations and said he was considering
filing a lawsuit to have additional voting machines installed.
The Secretary of State's office will have a statewide tally Wednesday of the first two days of early voting.
