Another Marianna Teacher Under Fire

Jackson County School Board officials say they're investigating claims that Marianna High School teacher Jimmie Green, American History, used a racial slur in class and cursed at students.

The complaint was apparently filed by a parent who sent a letter to Jackson County School Board Superintendent Danny Sims.

Sims would not comment on the case except to say "everything is still under investigation at this time."

School officials say it's very early in the investigation, and they have not taken any action against green. Green remains in a Marianna High School classroom, where he's taught since 2006.

This comes just two weeks after Marianna Middle School teacher Greg Howard was suspended for writing a racial slur about presidential candidate Barack Obama on the chalk board.

Howard was suspended without pay for the next ten days and transferred to the Jackson County adult education program.

The incident was also reported to the Florida Department of Education.

Slap him on the hand, send him to the house a couple of days on leave. The Jackson County Superintendent and BOA has set the precedent on that already! It ain't over.
