Two people were fatally shot Tuesday afternoon on the campus of Episcopal School of Jacksonville in what law enforcement authorities said was a murder-suicide.
No students were hurt during the incident, which occurred about 1:30 pm at the school, located at 4455 Atlantic Boulevard. Initial reports indicate that a former worker returned to the school and opened fire. It was not immediately clear who the shooter was or who the other victim was.
School administrators said parents could collect their children at their normal pick-up location and early video from the scene shows that several parents descended on the campus, a private school that has middle and high school students.
Administrators placed the school on lockdown as officers investigated the incident but parents were allowed to pick-up their students.
