2 Dead in Holmes County

June 21, 2012 Holmes County dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 9:02 a.m. indicating that a man had shot his wife.

Holmes County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the residence at 2702 Tup McWaters Road and discovered a Holmes County couple dead inside their home due to apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators also responded from Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement, the State’s Attorney’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deceased couple has been identified as Tammie Renae Coatney (41) and her husband Billy Ray Coatney (47). At this time the incident appears to be a murder/suicide; however the investigation is continuing.

    This is a shame, kill one another probably over a for nothing argument.Wonder what was so awful he had to shoot his wife for,then shoot his self ? Me and my ol' man argues but it don't get to for out of hand.This is such a shame for this to have happened.Prayers for these two peoples families.

    was this the same guy that killed jerry curry with his car several years ago or was it his brother?
