Man Convicted for Rape, Torture in Utah Arrested

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Utah fugitive wanted in a rape and torture case has been arrested while working as cook in a Jacksonville restaurant.

The FBI said 47-year-old Marc Clifton Bryant was arrested Thursday at a Golden Corral Restaurant after someone saw his case on "America's Most Wanted" and contacted authorities.

Bryant was convicted in absentia in April of raping a 16-year-old girl in 2004. He had tied her to a bed and tortured her with a blowtorch and screwdriver.

He was found guilty of aggravated kidnapping, child abuse, criminal solicitation, terroristic threats, witness tampering and rape of a minor.

Bryant is being held without bond in the Duval County Jail while awaiting extradition. Jail records do not show if he had a lawyer.
