FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Florida Panhandle high school football player has died after he collided with two other players during a game.
Taylor Haugen, a sophomore wide receiver for Niceville High School, first jogged off the field but then began to wobble at the sidelines after Friday night's collision.
Coach John Hicks said the boy was pronounced dead at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center Saturday morning.
Hicks said Taylor will be remembered as a student who always had a smile on his face and had a positive attitude.
Niceville High School and Okaloosa County Schools are providing support and grief counseling for players, students and staff.
