OCALA, Fla. (AP) - An off-duty Marion County Sheriff's detective got more then he bargained for when he saw a person towing a travel trailer with a "For Sale" and called the number to find out the price.
Detective Thomas Tingue was returning from vacation when he made the call. But the person who answered said the trailer had been reported stolen earlier in the day and then described the person suspected of stealing the vehicle.
Tingue followed the vehicle and approached the driver, 50-year-old Tommy Behringer of Franklin, N.C. Tingue called for backup and Behringer was arrested. A sheriff's spokeswoman says Behringer is still in custody and has a $2,000 bond. It was unclear if he had an attorney.
The detective, meanwhile, says he's no longer interested in the trailer.
