Condition of Baby Shot at Party Improves

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Doctors say the condition of a baby who was shot at a party last week is improving.

Brian Crenshaw Jr., who will turn 11 months old next week, was shot Friday night during a party at a Pensacola apartment. Doctors have upgraded his condition from critical to serious.

Authorities say 21-year-old Willie Porter was holding the gun when it went off. The bullet went through the child's back and stomach and grazed his mother, who was holding him.

Porter face charges of aggravated child abuse, culpable negligence, improper exhibition of a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm in public and use of a firearm under the influence. He remains in jail on a $29,000 bond.
