TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa jury has been seated to hear the trial of the man accused of killing 13-year-old Sarah Lunde three years ago.
Twelve jurors and four alternates were sworn Tuesday to consider the charges against 40-year-old David Lee Onstott. Attorneys will present opening statements Wednesday morning.
Onstott is charged with first-degree murder and attempted sexual battery. Sarah's body was found in a pond near her Ruskin home in April 2005.
Prosecutors say Onstott killed Sarah after coming to the house late one night looking for her mother, whom he had once dated.
They are relying on circumstantial evidence and statements Onstott made to others to convince jurors he is guilty.
