25 Roads Remain Closed in Walton County

Many Walton County roads have been closed due to recent weather.

Below is a list from the Sheriff's Office of which roads remain closed.

South Walton damaged roads, Deputy Confirmed.

1.) Half of County Highway 395 is clear of standing water, to include areas north of Pt. Washington and Eden Park.
2.) Coochie Road-is clear with the exception of one area, but it is passable.
3.)Eve Circle at Eden Drive – clear of standing water.
4.) Lakeview Beach DR and Beach Drive are under approx. Pond is over roadway 12 inches of water passable drive slowly
5.) 300 Block of Lakeview Beach Dr. yard of the resident is under water and water is going into his house when traffic drives by. Road department is on the way to check in to this matter.
6.) Big Redfish Lake is flooded – Signs posted- citizen has reported soil eroding from under the pavement and washing out. Public Works is on the way with a sump pump.
7.) County Highway 30A at Big Redfish Lake – Road is closed from Red Fish Lake to County Hwy 283 at Grayton Corners.
8.) 100 Block of Spotted Dolphin Rd is 3 Ft. deep. Complaints have been made from several citizens that water is washing into their house when cars drive by.
9.) 100 Block of S Gulf DR – Free of standing water, but 190 S. Gulf Drive there is still standing water in the yard.
10.) Intersection of Flounder St and Porpoise St caller advised the water was washing up to his house. Has road closed barriers on each side of the flooding about 3 ft deep.
11.) 191 Overlook Dr 1to 1 ½ ft on both sides of circle and in this yard. Barricades in place
12.) 138 Brown ST to the north is still under water , only passable to trucks.
13.) 10 Kingfish St a hole has developed near a water main and fire hydrant, the hole and the utilities have been submerged for the duration of the day. The hole begins at the edge of the road and appears to have undermined the road. The water draining into it has narrowed to a trickle
14.) Hillcrest Rd in Santa Rosa Beach, just behind Oyster Lake. Road is undermined and partially washed out. Both sides are open. Public Works has a couple barriers out there.
15.) Spotted Dolphin Rd- it appears that the power has been restored.

North Walton damaged roads, Deputy confirmed.

1.) Bruce Creek Bridge is no longer underwater. But there is damage to the bridge. Signs are still posted.
2.) River Road – has water on the road until just prior to the boat ramp. The road becomes impassable approximately 1.4 miles down.
3.) Beethoven Drive is still impassable for emergency traffic.
4.) McKinnon Bridge Rd- road is passable. No water over either bridge. Road department has placed caution signs up.
5.) Red Hill Rd and Sherwood Rd- road is still passable and the Road Department has placed caution signs in roadway.

Freeport damaged roads, Deputy confirmed.

1.) Don Graff Road has water across it in three places due to the ditches over flowing, but still passable. The deepest water was 2 inches at its deepest point. The water appears to be receding. Sign posted.
2.) County Road 3280 at Fluffy Landing RD – is passable, no water is on the roadway.
3.) 12000 Block of County Highway 3280 has water off the roadway but water is up to the doorsteps of the houses.
4.) Steelfield Rd and Bunker Rd. has water over the roadway. Cars may not be able to pass certain areas. Road is okay it was drained yesterday but for about 100 yards near the 4000 block is under about 3 ft of water small vehicles will not get through.
5.) Big Cedar Road is not passable. The water has extended out at least 300 meters south. The boat launch parking lot is completely flooded. The water appears to be rising.
