ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities in the Tampa Bay area have made 10 arrests in a crime sweep aimed at cracking down on suspected drug dealers and career criminals.
Law enforcement officers from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and the St. Petersburg and Largo police departments made the arrests Friday.
Twenty-three charges were filed and one weapon seized. Three arrests were gang related.
Deputies say the sweep came as a result of community concerns over drug problems and criminal activity in their neighborhoods.
No further details were immediately released.
