Jackson Co. in Drought

Parts of Jackson County, Fla., are now in a moderate drought stage.

Third generation farmer Sonny Davis farms roughly 6,500 acres with his family. He says he’s noticed a big difference in this year’s crops and blames it on the summer’s intense heat.

The lack of moisture is also affecting maturity and quality of crops, and so far this month there’s been no rainfall.

Authorities have declared a large part of the panhandle as being in a drought.
